Chief Operating Officer & Distiller
Formerly the Director of Plant Operations at Glutenberg, Jean-François Théorêt had always cherished the dream of strarting his own distillery before he took the big leap with Oshlag. Always on the lookout for the latest trends and methods, he spent years studying distillation abroad, most notably in Scotland, Austria and in the United States. He holds a Brewing and Distilling MSc/Diploma from the Heriot-Watt University based in Edinburg and has been a fervent distiller for years.
Gabriel trained in brewing at the Laboratoires Maska in St-Hyacinthe. He practiced home brewing for many years before starting his career at the McAuslan Brewery. Officially the Head Brewer at Glutenberg since 2011, he has won numerous awards for his beers in some of North America's most prestigious beer competitions. His undying passion, thoroughness, wild imagination and sharp knowledge of the different styles and brewing methods make him one of the best brewers in Quebec.
